In Their Own Words

Brought in my grandfather's 1960s Seiko that had been sitting in a drawer for years. Hafizuddin took the time to explain exactly what the movement needed and why — not in a condescending way, just clearly. The watch came back running better than I suspected it ever had. The written timing result was a nice touch I didn't expect.

I had the sapphire crystal on my Omega replaced after a bad fall. The turnaround was quicker than quoted, which I appreciated since I wear the watch daily. They also noticed the crown seal was slightly worn and flagged it — I had that replaced at the same time. Good attention to detail.

The full overhaul took a bit longer than I'd hoped, but the result is worth it. My IWC hadn't been serviced in about eight years and it was showing. Came back with timing results within manufacturer spec, which I verified against my own timegrapher. The service notes they provided were more detailed than I've ever received anywhere.

I was nervous about leaving my late mother's watch with anyone — it has a lot of sentimental value. From the intake onwards, they made the process feel considered. Nadia was very thorough during intake documentation. The watch came back exactly as I'd hoped — cleaned and running well, without a hair out of place on the original dial.

Had case work done on two Tudor watches from different years — both came back with the original brushed-polished combination restored rather than polished over entirely. That's not easy to find. Pricing was fair for the level of work. Will be returning with more pieces.

A friend recommended Pendulum Atelier after I mentioned I couldn't find anyone in KL who worked on vintage Longines movements. They were comfortable with the calibre, which was reassuring. The estimate was clear, the timeline was realistic, and the communication throughout was easy. No drama, just good work.

Detailed Stories

A Few Cases Worth Describing

Some jobs tell a story that a short review doesn't quite capture. Here are three, shared with the clients' permission.

Case Study 01

A 1962 Omega Seamaster from a Family Estate

Challenge

The watch had sat in a drawer for over twenty years. The movement was frozen, the crown tube had corroded slightly, and the original gilt dial showed some age marks the owner wanted to preserve rather than clean away.

Solution

Full overhaul with careful attention to the dial — cleaned only where structurally necessary, not cosmetically altered. The crown tube was replaced with a period-appropriate part. The movement was freed, serviced, and regulated.

Result

Running at +4 seconds per day across multiple positions. The dial remains original and aged as the owner intended. Turnaround: 18 working days.

Case Study 02

A Modern Rolex with a Shattered Crystal

Challenge

The sapphire crystal had been cracked in a fall. The case showed impact scratches on one side. The owner was particular about the finish and wanted it returned to exactly how it left the factory.

Solution

Crystal replaced with a genuine equivalent. Case refinished selectively — the affected brushed flank restored, the polished chamfers left untouched. Water resistance pressure tested on completion.

Result

Case finish indistinguishable from factory. Pressure test confirmed to original water resistance specification. Turnaround: 7 working days.

Case Study 03

An Estate Auction Piece with No Service History

Challenge

The client acquired a 1970s Jaeger-LeCoultre from an estate auction with no paperwork. The movement was running, but the power reserve was shorter than expected and timing was inconsistent.

Solution

Full overhaul. Disassembly revealed the mainspring had partially set — replaced with a compatible part. Worn pivots on the third wheel required sourcing from our supplier network. Full case service completed alongside.

Result

Power reserve restored to full specification. Timing within +3/−1 seconds per day across six positions. Turnaround: 21 working days due to parts sourcing.
